In the UK, it's estimated that around 900,000 have been diagnosed with Dementia. Unfortunately, this number is set to grow to around 1,600,000 by 2040 according to the Alzheimers Society.

Fortunately, as a society, we're increasing our knowledge of the condition and how to support those suffering from the symptoms it brings. When supporting someone with a diagnosis of Dementia, we may focus on ensuring that:

• A positive routine is encouraged
• Continuity of care is of particular importance
• The person's independence is promoted wherever possible
• Assistive technology such as dementia clocks are utilised wherever they may be of benefit
• Medication is taken appropriately and reviewed regularly

In addition to these skills we've picked up over years of supporting people with Dementia, we also ensure that all aspects of the condition are considered when writing our care plans. All of our care & management staff are trained in Dementia, so you can be sure that you or your loved ones are in good hands.
